Students from Leith Academy spent the morning manufacturing and coding sensors for autonomous vehicles before building smart robot cars. These were repeatedly crashed into the walls of the SMC conference room until they managed to programme the ultrasonic obstacle avoidance sensors. After lunch the students were taken around the clean rooms and labs, and were shown further hands-on demonstrations.

Paul Sullivan, Donora, Jennifer Dodoo and Callum MacArthur hosted this event at the Institute for Micro and Nano Systems, at the University of Edinburgh.
